Originally created to house the construction staff working on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme in the 1960’s, Khancoban is a picturesque town featuring the superb Lady Hudson rose garden and views overlooking Khancoban pondage (dam).
Khancoban is the southern gateway to Koscuiszko National Park and the Snowy Mountains snowfields.
During your visit play golf alongside resident kangaroos, water ski or fish on the lake, enjoy walks and four wheel driving in the National Park and view Snowy Hydro installations such as Murray 1 Power Station Visitors Centre.
