Settled in the early 1870’s by land selectors who carved up the Cudgewa pastoral runs, Cudgewa is the birthplace of the dairy industry in the area, and the original location of the Cudgewa Dairy Company, which was founded in 1892.
The township of Cudgewa is home to the former railway terminus on the old line from Wodonga, a line that played an important logistical role in the construction of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme.
A visit to the Upper Murray would not be complete without a visit to Cudgewa Bluff Falls. Fish for trout or cod in the cool waters of the Cudgewa creek. At dusk look out for the platypus in quiet areas of the creek
