Cool Places in the Upper Murray

Looking for some cool places? Head down to one of our rivers or creeks and enjoy yourself! There is so much to choose from in the Upper Murray. There are many public access points on the Murray River – try the Indi, Bringenbrong, Towong, Tintaldra bridges; Clarkes Lagoon, Neils Bend or the flats in front of the Jingellic Pub.

For quieter waters explore the options along the various creeks. Stacey’s Bridge on the Nariel Creek is a great place to cool off for the day.

Bluff Falls is still flowing and in the summer you can wade across the bottom pool and stand under the trickling water. Click here for a pdf map of the Upper Murray Parks.

A little further afield you can visit Khancoban pondage at the boat ramp picnic ground, Paddy’s River Falls or Geehi in the Kosciuszko National Park. Click here for a pdf of the Cartoscope map Snowy Mountains Region.

And of course the Corryong Swimming Pool is open too!

If you need maps or would like to talk to a local about their favourite swimming place visit the Corryong Visitor Information Centre in Hanson St. We are open from 9am to 5pm everyday. Our volunteers love to share their knowledge of the local area with you.

Remember – take care to be safe. Remember to take water to drink, a hat and sunscreen. Watch the kids and have fun!
