Snow capped mountains, cool crisp air and cosy log fires herald the arrival of winter. Watch out for the famous Corryong fog! The BEST views of the Australian Snowy Mountains is from various lookouts and scenic drives in the Upper Murray just a few kilometres from Corryong Victoria.

Getting to the Upper Murray and Corryong Victoria

West of Mt. Kosciusko and 124 kilometres east of Albury/Wodonga on the scenic route between Melbourne and Sydney, Corryong  is a beautiful small rural town and the largest town in the Upper Murray in North East Victoria.  Here you will find the Upper Murray Visitors Information Centre.  The volunteer staff are locals with a broad knowledge of the region and are keen to help you have a wonderful holiday.  The Visitors Centre is well stocked with maps, information, and local products and souvenirs and local knowledge.


Drive to Corryong via the Murray Valley Highway or see the map below with alternative routes.  Follow the river downstream from Towong to the Hume Dam and enjoy “The Great River Road” experience. On the way stop at some of the wayside stops along the river and the experience the tranquillity of the townships of Tintaldra, Walwa and Jingellic.
